Peer support sits at the heart of everything the Key Population Consortium of Kenya does. Across our member networks, trained peer leaders walk alongside community members – sharing information, offering encouragement, and helping people navigate health and legal services without fear or stigma.

Over the past quarter, our networks have expanded peer-led outreach, reaching more community members with accurate health information and safe referral pathways. These sessions are designed by and for the communities they serve, which is what makes them work: people trust information that comes from someone who understands their lived experience.

When support comes from your own community, it changes how you see yourself and your options. That sense of belonging – of not being alone – is often the first step toward better health and stronger advocacy.

As we look ahead, the Consortium will continue investing in peer capacity: more training, better tools, and stronger links between networks so that no community is left behind.
